Nan Bosler, our new Patron

To our large family of Frederick’s descendants, Nan Bosler AM, was once known as our leader, inspirer and guide as a past president; contagiously enthusiastic, always smiling and her company made us all feel happy to be with her. She is a descendant of Ann Meredith, daughter of Frederick Meredith and Sarah Mason, and the perfect candidate to be the Patron of the Frederick Meredith Descendants’ Group Inc.

We were not surprised to learn that we were not the only people on whom she had this effect! In fact, Nan has been busy for many years being an author, an advocate for young people through Girl Guides, for people with disabilities, and for older people going through the vagaries of technology and many subjects in between. She has started many an association to support the community.

Nan’s OAM Award, in 1992, the “Not-For-Profit Technology Lifetime Service Award” was given to “Recognise and celebrate the outstanding commitment and service by an individual working in a technology-related role in the not-for-profit sector over a significant period of time.” As the volunteer President and founder of the Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association (ASCCA) in 1998, Nan was building upon 50 years as a NFP volunteer and innovator of new ideas to support her community.

In 2019, Nan was awarded a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia, an even higher award, for significant service to seniors and to the community.

Nan’s extensive biography is a wonderful read and we are excited to have her as our Patron

Congratulations and thank you from us too, Nan!
